  • I am really enjoying iPhone dev. The NavigationController for example is very nicely done and easy to use. #
  • On the web front, an update to my webser of choice, Cherokee: http://www.cherokee-project.com/ The last version fixes bugs and add features. #
  • For the novice Cherokee is Apache on steroid. Performance, less memory footprint, less CPU consuming. And its comes with a web admin ;-) . #

  • I love Firebug for Firefox and Safari 4 just got a clone. The latest Safari developer toolbar is clean, nice and powerful. CSS on the fly… #
  • And if you turn on the Developer menu in Safari 4 you get a nice Javascript debugger and a profiler on top of the DOM traversing and CSS !!! #

  • The new iPhone 3GS. Competition still crawling behind: http://bit.ly/13Widb #
  • How to kill MS again: snow Leopard of course ! Focusing on what matters most: performance and bloat. Clean and lean for the demanding user. #
  • So far I was not understanding all the buzz around Windows 7: a lot of new eye candy, some interface improvements and quicker than Vista. #
  • But so far Windows 7 is still Windows and the user experience and ease of use is not on par with Leopard. Seriously Leopard feels natural. #
  • And by the way Safari 4 just got released. Being the fastest browser can be discussed but so far it is insanely fast and extremely compliant #
  • And with the release of the iPhone OS 3.0 in 1 1/2 week, it is time for me to update the SDK to 3.0. And we have to be compatible with 3.0. #
  • Did I mention that Snow Leopard will be a $29 upgrade only for MacOSX. Even the full license is cheap. No Ultimate Home Premium Pro version. #

  • We will soon need to develop for both the iPhone and Android at the very least. Dozen of Android phones planned this year: http://is.gd/K8Lp #
  • SourceForge is again pushing forward. Not only you can now have Mercurial or Git version control, but Ohloh is coming: http://is.gd/K8NK #
  • I have mixed feelings with Objective-C. I have to use it or iPhone dev, the language is not bad, but outside iPhone it is no use. #
  • I juste spent 1:20 hours hooked on the Google wave Demo. The whole concept is amazing and far more promising and extensible than a Facebook. #
  • And by the way you can develop for Google Wave using either Java of Python. Once again, I can’t stress more the importance of Python today. #

  • I was at the Bizzone events in Auckland yesterday. A was able to talk to some companies, attend a seminar and enjoy beautiful booth ladies. #
  • Bizzone attendance in the first day was not spectacular. Not much people. The good thing is that you were able to speak to the companies. #
  • However I am going back to bizzone friday afternoon to attend 2 seminars and talk to some more people. #
  • Back to .NET. I got a NDepend Pro license. This tool is your best friend when you want to evaluate your architecture: http://is.gd/I0Lt #
  • By the way, a new version of NDepend is out since the 20th of May. Also check out the incredibe book of Patrick Smacchia: http://is.gd/I0Uj #

  • Used ‘#BulkTwitterFollow’ tool at http://www.exectones.com/bulktwitter/ to follow all iPhone developers. Took 15 seconds. #
  • iPhone development here I come ! Actually I’m officially an iPhone developer and I already installed the SDK and so on. Time to do some C. #
  • For performance applications on the iPhone and also cross-platform development I am going to use pure C and only Objective-C for API calls. #
