Just a quick post, first to wishes you all a Merry Christmas !
And to talk a bit about Mercurial.

Mercurial 1.1.1 has just been released. A few bugs have been fixed and some more goodness added. This tool is getting better and better. I think 2009 will be the Mercurial year ! Go here to download the latest version and read the release notes here.

As you may have noticed I am trying to use Mercurial for all my new projects, this includes project written in PHP, Python or C# .Net. I already have my ways on my Mac to efficiently use Mercurial with PHP and Python with either an Aptana plugin, Komodo or MacMercurial.

But for Visual Studio 2008 on my Windows box, I use TortoiseHg and a nice plugin called VisualHg. I believe that I am all set now. What ever the platform I use, the language, I always have good tools to work with Mercurial and they are more and more integrated in the IDEs. As I said, I am expecting more improvements on the integration part next year: 2009 will be the Mercurial year.

Happy holiday,

Richard Lopes
